Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Do I need to sign up for Paypal to pay by credit card?

A:  No.  On the checkout window, below "Pay with my Paypal account" you will see an option that says "Pay with a debit or credit card".  When you click on this, you will be able to enter your credit card info.  The payment will be securely processed through Paypal, so we will receive only the payment, not your credit card information.

Q:  How much is shipping?

A:  $6.00 per order ($15.00 outside the U.S.), regardless of how many items you purchase.

Q:  Does it come in a nice gift box?

Q: Are these earrings OK for sensitive ears? Why do the earrings all have niobium hooks?

A: Niobium is recognized as the most hypoallergenic of the metals, and therefore the best for sensitive ears.

Q: What is the best way to care for my wood jewelry?

A: All SleepyBrook wood jewelry comes with seven layers of shellac and is polished with museum-quality wax.  This provides a beautiful but tough, water-resistant finish.  To clean it, simply use your favorite furniture polish.

To keep the colors from darkening in the sun, you can occasionally apply a bit of Armor All Protectant. Originally designed for cleaning the interior of cars and protecting them from sun damage, a bit of this sprayed on a paper towel then wiped on your jewelry will add UV protection.

While SleepyBrook jewelry is very water resistant, it is not recommended that you submerge it.  Taking off rings off before washing your hands is recommended.

Q: Why do some pairs of earrings contain earrings of different colors?

This is just to show the front and back of the earrings in the pictures.  Both earrings are the same, but the front and back may be different colors/kinds of wood.
